I thought it a good day to share with you things that have been going on in our lives. First, I have to get you caught up on an amazing anniversary, which was a little over a month ago. We had such a great time trouncing around Cape Hatteras at a time where it wasn’t busy with all the tourists. I loved spending time with my hubby and we definitely took in all of the beauty of the beaches/lighthouses. It was memorable and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We had a sweet weekend of hanging out together, eating some seafood, and just enjoying one another. Zack gave me an awesome anniversary book of our first year together and I got him a collage poster of our first year together. On the last day we bundled up because it was considerably colder and much more windy the day we left and scoured the beach for some shells. We left and headed home, but the drive home was kind of dangerous because the winds were so high. In fact, on part of our drive home there were state troopers that closed down the highway to detour us from some wild fires across the interstate. So, I know that was only a slight description of our trip, but there is so much going on now that I’m sure Zack will appreciate me finally writing on our blog (since I’m the one who should keep it up more ;0)).
We just found out on March 1st that I am pregnant with our first bundle of joy. We have our first appointment this Thursday. It’s simply amazing to me and I suspected that we probably got pregnant on our anniversary. Zack and I are beyond excited and overwhelmed. I haven’t experienced any morning sickness, but I am queasy all of the time. No food appeals to me either. I’m just really run down, but it is amazing to think that before the foundation of the world the Lord knew about this life that now grows inside of me. It’s difficult to wrap my mind around it, but at the same time not. So for all of you moms out there..I have a question. :0) Is there anything while you were pregnant looking back now that you have kids that you wish someone had told you? Please share with me in the comments. Oh and if you have any advice on how to sleep better. I would be so grateful. It’s weird b/c I get tired during the day and take a nap, but then at night can’t seem to sleep.
I praise the Lord for such wonderful gifts: Himself, my husband, and our baby riesland.
This Psalm makes me think about how the Lord knows us so intimately.
Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
